A very disappointing experience where we were lied to multiple times. Came here for a good vibe and experience. We had a party of 8 so gratuity was automatically included. 1 vegetarian with our party as it was our friends birthday. So she was fine eating nothing and just drinking saki, as you have to select a regular or premium meat offering only. However, I asked the waiter if she could just order some side vegetables as shes too nice to even ask. He said no problem they can do side orderes for her. She got a half onion, 3 mushrooms, 2 slices of zucchini. They charged her the premium meat plate price of $39 when the bill came. We brought up to them that we had just had this conversation about this with him. He said no, that he meant she could just get the sides if she ordered the whole meal. We said that wasn't what we discussed, he said no and ended any discussion. We also called in earlier that day and asked what the cork charge, they said there was none (we would have been fine if there was, but they lied) so then on the bill they charged $15 per bottle, and we had a few bottles as we were told it was free (they don't sell wine BTW). The food was so/so, you come here for the atmosphere, but just want people to know they lied multiple times at our expense . Disappointed with the ethics of the place. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Dear Dylan, I’m truly sorry to hear about the disappointing experience you had with us. It’s unacceptable that there was a miscommunication regarding the vegetarian meal and the corkage fee, and I apologize for any confusion or frustration caused. We aim to provide clear and honest service, and it’s clear we missed the mark during your visit. Your feedback about the service and the situation with the charges is being taken very seriously. We will be reviewing this with our team to ensure it doesn’t happen again. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and hope you might reconsider visiting us in the future, so we can provide the experience you deserve.

The term hidden gem is way over used, but for Kimchi Korean BBQ it's a perfect discription. Driving down upper state street in Santa Barbara you will find it hard to spot the place (hidden) but I happened to notice the little red Open sign and decided to spot and grab lunch. It was well worth it as the food was good and the service was great. Hibachi style cooked meats and varieties of freash seasoned veggies. Definitely a place you want to try (gem)... But go hungry. There are a lot of good choices.
