Stumbled across this little food van/makeshift restaurant on the waterfront behind the Teow Soon Huat supermarket/duty free shop which we were visiting. It looked busy and we were hungry so shared one of their dishes (stir fried noodles with clams) before shopping. The owner (in the van) was very friendly and they set out a table on the grass behind under a tree for us. The food is cooked behind the van and it was delicious and very fresh. It was so good we went back for a late lunch the next day and had the pad Thai noodles with chicken this time. All very fresh and tasty and very reasonable: RM20 for 2 dishes and 2 small bottles of water. And we only paid once we were ready to leave. Nice to get more Thai-inspired food after sampling more traditional Malaysian food for a few days. There is a covered area behind the van with tables but we sat outside. “Street food” at its best!
