King Alfred in Barrow-in-Furness is a great place to visit for a meal or drinks. The restaurant offers a wide range of options, from the Fizzy Friday buffet to the bar menu and Sunday lunch. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. The food is always cooked to perfection, with generous portions and plenty of flavour. The drinks selection is also great, with a variety of beers, wines and spirits available. In addition, the restaurant has implemented strict social distancing measures, making it a safe and comfortable place to enjoy a meal. Whether you're looking for a quick bite to eat or a full evening meal, King Alfred is the perfect spot for a night out.
Staff were friendly, food was decent. Service was very slow but it was busy so understandable. We'll visit again but maybe not during Sunday lunch service! Cakes were fab and roast dinners were delicious
Used to come here a lot for food. Usually it’s brilliant like about 2 weeks it was amazing. However went today and the food was shocking. Burnt roast, everything on the plate as burnt. My burger was sent back twice. Came away hungry. As I’ve said usually can’t fault it. I can only presume the chef didn’t want to work Christmas and just threw the food together as when I returned the food the second time I was told the chefs have gone home. Will definitely avoid this place from now on. My advice if you want good food don’t go to the King Alfred.

Terrible experience with a meal booked 2 weeks ago and pre-ordered for 14 people. Mains arrived an hour later, forgot starters and when we asked for 3 coffees, the machine apparently had been turned off! To top it all they charged us for the coffee! Absolutely awful service and he food was not much better.
