, My husband and I decided to try the new restaurant in town, King Taps. We had a positive experience at the Vancouver location, so we wanted to see if the Langley one was the same. When we entered the reception area, the staff member was dismissive, showed no eye contact, and lacked a smile. We had a reservation and expected not to wait too long. however, we still waited. When she called us, she strictly reminded us that we could only stay until 7:30 pm. This immediately raised concerns—what if we ordered more food or extended our stay past 7:30? Would they force us to leave? On our way to the table, I asked the hostess if we could sit side by side and pointed a table that maybe less pleasing to others since we always eat side by side together. She called the receptionist to ask, then later informed us that it was not allowed. Throughout our visit, the table was never occupied by anyone. This incident, along with the receptionist’s attitude and the restriction on seating, ruined the occasion of our fifth wedding anniversary. We also joked with our server that we couldn’t order desserts or alcohol because we had to leave before 7:30. I trust that the receptionist this afternoon, as the first point of contact, has received appropriate training in customer engagement. Additionally, as business owners ourselves, we occasionally host meetings and events for our team of over 300 staff. Consequently, I hesitate to plan an event at a venue where I do not feel personally welcomed. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CA$100+ Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I had a great dining experience with both the pasta and steak. The pasta was rich, creamy, and perfectly cooked with a well-balanced sauce that wasn’t overpowering. The steak was cooked just right—tender, juicy, and full of flavor with a nice sear on the outside. The portions were satisfying, and everything came out fresh and well-prepared. Overall, it was a delicious meal that felt comforting yet well-executed. I’d definitely order both dishes again. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CA$50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3

Had such a great experience at King Taps! The atmosphere was cozy and perfect for a night out, and every dish we tried was amazing. The rigatoni was rich and flavourful, the pizza was fresh with the perfect crust, and the dips/appetizers were so good for sharing. Dessert was the perfect ending — beautifully presented and delicious. Everything felt high quality without being overdone. Definitely one of those places that’s just as good for the vibe as it is for the food. Will 100% be coming back! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CA$40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
