I went into this café in the center of Zurich looking for a coffee, and while I was there, I wanted to use the restroom. When I asked the waitress who served me, she made strange faces and even gestured to another person as if what I was asking for was inappropriate. There was little friendliness, neither when handing me the coffee nor when I paid and thanked her. The coffee itself was nothing special. I definitely wouldn’t come back. Das, was du in Bezug auf den Service beschreibst, entspricht nicht dem Standard, den wir in unserem Café in Zürich anstreben. Jeder Gast soll sich willkommen fühlen – von der ersten Begrüssung bis zur Verabschiedung. Dass du dich unwohl gefühlt hast, tut uns aufrichtig leid. Unfortunately, Kiosk Cafe Bar was by far the most disappointing experience of my two weeks in Switzerland, and that’s saying a lot given my modest expectations for coffee here. After a lovely walk through the old town and a view from Lindenhof, I stopped by this cafe and ordered a Flat White. What I received for CHF 5.90 was essentially just half cup of poorly made cappuccino: thick, foamy milk, very bitter and over-extracted espresso, a complete opposite of what defines a flat white. I refrain from leaving such negative reviews, but this experience was genuinely worse than instant coffee, and service was indifferent at best and served with a scowl. For a cafe with such a charming location, the quality and experience were an absolute disappointment. I hope this feedback is taken in good faith, because with better coffee and friendlier service, Kiosk could easily become a great spot. For you the reader, in the meantime, I’d recommend checking out the far better coffee options around Bahnhofplatz or Zurich HB. Price per person: CHF 1–10 Food: 1 Service: 2
