If you’re a ramen enthusiast, this is a must-visit. The famous blue ramen is unlike anything I’ve ever seen, and somehow it’s just as delicious as it is eye-catching. The broth is a light, clean chicken ramen with a delicate flavor that lets the quality of the ingredients shine. The secret behind the vibrant blue color is closely guarded, but it’s said to come from natural ingredients—possibly a type of blue algae rather than artificial coloring. Whatever the secret is, it doesn’t affect the taste; it’s simply one of the most unique dining experiences I’ve had. This is the kind of place that proves ramen can be both an art form and incredible comfort food. Whether you’re a hardcore ramen enthusiast or just looking for a one-of-a-kind meal in Tokyo, Kippōshi belongs at the top of your list. Chicken ramen lovers - this is the place to enjoy rich chicken broth in various formats. I had the creamy chicken broth which was rich and fatty, my daughter had the blue broth which was light and unique, my husband had chicken broth with ume (plum) which he said was very Japanese. The chicken meat is extremely rare and finishes cooking in the broth so be aware the texture is extra soft. Highly recommend! Meal type: Dinner Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Okay, so I finally checked out this Blue Ramen place in Shiba – 1-chōme-11-2. Seriously, it was packed when I got there around lunchtime. There was a decent line already! The ramen itself was pretty good, definitely lighter than I expected, and the blue colour was a bit of a surprise. Portion size was good for the price, though I’d maybe have ordered a smaller size next time. The staff were super friendly, which was a nice touch. It felt a little chaotic, but in a fun way. Maybe they could do with a few more tables for people waiting. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
