Solid food, 100% of the time. Service is great. Never disappoints. Long wait if you do not make a reservation.

We attended Kirin Seafood Restaurant on the 23rd to celebrate a friend's birthday.  I had preordered their 2 course Peking Duck and reserved 2 orders of their Durian Mochi.  In addition to these, I added their special chowmein, special fried rice, deep fried tofu and hot and sour soup.   The duck's skin wasn't carved infront of us.  They served it with cold crepes instead of warm crepes, no spring onion tops and just sliced cucumbers. The fats had been scraped off the skin but from the look underneath the skin, it looks like it's been prepared one day before because it looks dry.  Also, I have a feeling that it's just one of those barbecued duck you find hanging in the stores and not a real Peking Duck.  The second course was nothing to rave about either.   Their special chowmein was ok but the toppings were not enough for 4 people.  As for their special fried rice, it came to us not looking fried like any other fried rice, but the rice was topped with some chopped up veggies with a thick sauce and poured on top of the rice.  We didn't recognized it as fried rice so we questioned the waiter.  Apparently they have 2 kinds of fried rice.  The wet one and the dry one which we were not informed in the first place.  We told the waiter we want the dry one.  They took the dish back to the kitchen but instead of giving us a fresh batch, they used the same stuff from the wet one and served it.  This didn't even look like a fried rice.   Now talk about the Hot and Sour soup.  Yes, we know it should be a little sour but this was much too sour.  My mistake here was that I didn't complain.  I should have told the waiter to taste it so he would have known the cook had poured too much vinegar into the soup.   I honestly regretted suggesting to go to Kirin for this birthday celebration. I thought that with its reputation, Kirin would be a sure bet of serving good and delicious food. The celebrant wasn't too happy about the food served.  The only item she appreciated was the durian mochi. After spending $197, they didn't even offer free dessert.
