Located at Level 5 of Terminal 1, Kitchen By Open House offers a dining option within the bustling Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Conveniently situated near the Kuala Lumpur International Airport metro station, this restaurant is accessible for travelers looking to enjoy Malaysian cuisine between flights or during a layover.
Despite its position in a major transportation hub, the restaurant maintains a relatively low profile online, with minimal presence on popular directories beyond a basic Yelp listing. Visitor feedback from a year ago suggests a welcoming atmosphere and friendly service, offering a sense of relaxation not often associated with airport dining experiences. Patrons have mentioned enjoying traditional dishes such as fried noodles and laksa, with beverages like pulled tea and freshly brewed coffee adding to the dining experience.
One review highlighted that the atmosphere makes diners forget they are in an airport, supporting the notion that it’s an appreciated respite for those seeking comfort over hustle. The pricing is noted to be reflective of its airport location, yet some visitors feel that the relaxation provided by the ambiance justifies the expense. There seems to be a gap in recent customer feedback and operational details, such as opening hours, from the establishment itself. Anyone planning a visit might find value in confirming current statuses and offerings due to the dated nature of existing reviews.

I arrived at the airport earlier and looked for a place to dine while passing time. I spent time eating and working on my computer. I ordered a Veg Biryani Rice set, which was delicious. The staff were friendly, and I loved the atmosphere. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: RM 40–60

UPDATE! After a while and we was ready to leave. He come back and was sorry about the burger and fix a new burger right away so give it better rewew after he fix it up. Not top score since took over 40min he come back about it but good thing he fix it up. So change it form "do not eat!" to "be a bit cautious about the food". And beef burger was delicious, warm, not raw inside. Hopefully coming back to eat here again. Old comment before he had change of mind:. Okey place to rest but. The place look nice and quiet. But only good thing. Now to the bad part when we try order the lam meny he told us he didn't recommend it because is hard as the table*start knocking on the table*. So go for the fish burger and beef burger. Fish and sweet potato was Okey. But my beef burger was ice cold inside and raw. So when talk to guy he told me "i told you the beef burger is not good" and take my plate. Was waiting for a new or something but nothing happen. While eat rest of sweet potato can her others complain about the food but seems have different excuses for each item. I will not recommend to others or come back after this. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: RM 120–140
