Kitchen Montagu in Rochedale is a local gem - friendly service, and a relaxed vibe. The menu is well thought-out with fresh, quality ingredients, and Japanese style sandwiches. Worth a visit if you’re nearby.

This cafe was definitely my favourite but it’s gone downhill fast. We try to find dog friendly cafes so our dog can be included. The outdoor seating is now almost non existent with tables that might have enough room for a coffee. The seating has been replaced by kid sized stools which are not relaxing and straining on the back. The meal I always get has changed drastically within the last few months . Instead of a plate which was perfect, it’s now served in a bowl and the beetroot purée is non existent. Unfortunately I won’t be eating here again. The previous barista was the heart and soul of this cafe with his welcoming personality and amazing service. Since he’s left this restaurant is a shadow of its former self.
