Unfortunately, this is one place we would never return to. What was presented as “fusion Indian food” completely lost the authentic flavors and essence of Indian cuisine. The food lacked depth and flavor, portions were disappointingly small for the high prices, and even the drinks felt watered down — more like flavored lemonade with barely any alcohol content. We had reserved a table for four a week in advance, yet were seated at an extremely small and cramped table where it was difficult to fit both the dishes and four adults comfortably. The entire seating area felt tight and uncomfortable. One of the most frustrating parts of the experience was the service flow. Multiple servers approached from all sides at the same time — bringing food, silverware, water, and clearing plates simultaneously. Having servers constantly reaching over both shoulders made the dining experience feel chaotic and very uncomfortable. I eventually had to request that service be done one at a time, and thankfully they respectfully accommodated that request. The restaurant itself was also extremely dark, making it hard to even see the food clearly or fully enjoy what was being served. Between the cramped seating, overpriced underwhelming food, tiny portions, and uncomfortable atmosphere, the overall experience was disappointing from start to finish. We left still hungry and honestly regretted choosing this place. Definitely not somewhere we would visit again. Price per person: $30–40 Food: 1 Service: 2 Vegetarian offerings: Clearly labelled vegetarian dishes

This was our second visit to Rumors Kitchen, and with so many great options in Houston, coming back says a lot—we clearly enjoy it here. We started with the lamb chops, which were excellent and easily the standout among the starters. The hamachi crudo, on the other hand, was just okay and not something we’d order again. We expected more citrus and brightness, but the coconut milk flavor didn’t quite work for us. For the mains, the goat biryani was outstanding—rich, flavorful, and very satisfying. The paneer was also fantastic. We ordered the cauliflower with tahini as well, which we would definitely get again, along with the garbanzo beans in curry, both of which were excellent. The flan is the perfect dessert here. Overall, we really enjoyed the meal, but it doesn’t quite reach a 5-star level for us. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
