Kitchen Yell is a restaurant whose kindness has become diluted. From the outside, the menu seems too extensive. Hamburg steak, tonkatsu, fried chicken, shrimp fritters, curry, katsu donburi, yakisoba, mixed plates and takeaways all stand together. While this may seem generous at first, it makes the heart of the kitchen hard to see. A good everyday yoshoku shop can have many dishes and still maintain its identity. Here, however, the focus feels blurred. The prices are reasonable. A lunch in this price range with a large rice dish could work as a practical neighbourhood dining option. It may feed nearby workers well enough, and it may even be better than it looks on a good day. But the first impression is weak. Too many signs, photos and choices, and the lack of customers after noon on a Saturday make the room feel tired before the meal begins. The question becomes not what to eat, but whether this will be all right. This is not a top-tier life yoshoku shop for me. It's a C candidate for checking out the local area.
