Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood about 3 minutes walk from Bizen-Tai Station, Kofū Rakusō is an experience that feels like stepping into a different world. Set inside the home of a warm, avuncular couple, this place radiates a kind of hospitality that’s rare and unforgettable. The set lunch (they had only 2 options, a tempura set and an anago set) I had was art on a tray - the delicately grilled anago, seasonal vegetables, homemade pickles and perfectly cooked rice was deeply satisfying. The chef respected the ingredients and letting them shine in their natural form. The lady owner, who runs the front was kind and attentive. She welcomed us like old friends, making you feel at home from the moment you step inside. Make the journey if you are ever in Tamano; Kofū Rakusō is a rare and beautiful experience you’ll probably never forget. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
