As a vegan traveler in Japan, I’ve often found myself scanning menus filled with meat, fish, and mysterious broths, wondering if I’d have to settle for plain rice and pickles again. But when I stumbled upon a few truly vegetarian-vegan friendly spots, it felt like discovering hidden treasure. Food was absolutely delicious. I had coconut curry with plenty of different salads.Then came the carrot cake. Moist, spiced, and topped with a dollop of cream. Well done to the team Ayako and Dawid. Excellent lunch spot. Creative vegetarian dishes with fabulous use of various spices - both from Japan and abroad. Very nice atmosphere but didn’t expect the prices to be so high being away from the city center. Price per person: ¥3,000–4,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I enjoyed everything about our experience at Koma. The space has a relaxing atmosphere and great service from the friendly staff who can speak English. It is difficult to find good vegetarian food with western options in Japan, but the food at Koma was delicious. We particularly enjoyed the curry and side salads - these were perfectly seasoned with lots of aromatics and fresh herbs. The price is more expensive than other cafes but well worth it for the quality and portions of the food. We will definitely be visiting again. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
