New, upscale restaurant near the Kok river in Chiang Rai providing an amazing farm-to-table dining experience with truly Michelin-level quality. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here a very special occasion and weren't disappointed We tried several unique "a lá carte" dishes that were occasionally quirky but without feeling contrived. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, highlighting fresh Chiang Rai ingredients and beautiful flavors with a hint of Nordic sensibilities especially with the trout, which was comforting yet daring flavor profile of the sauce The steelhead trout was indeed a standout—perfectly cooked with incredibly crispy skin and even the scales adding a delicate crunch. It was served with a vibrant red chile curry that balanced heat and richness beautifully. A refreshing watermelon and radish dish added a bright, clean contrast, while the sticky rice with vegetables was comforting and full of subtle flavor. The okra with Indian curry brought another layer of spice and depth, tying the meal together with warm, aromatic notes. For dessert, there was a wonderful candied tangerine served with ice cream, which finished the meal on a fresh, citrusy note. Overall, the textures were fantastic throughout the meal—I especially loved all the little crunchy elements that added contrast and made each bite more interesting. A memorable meal from start to finish. ️ Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ฿1,200–1,400 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

We really enjoyed our experiential dining at KUMA. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted and unique, and we loved that many of the ingredients were sourced from a local farm—the greens were especially fresh and flavorful! The service was excellent. The staff took time to explain each dish and even surprised us with a few bonus bites to sample items we didn’t order, which was such a nice touch. While it was a splurge compared to our usual date nights, we loved the mystery with each dish and sharing the experience together. Highly recommend for couples who enjoy a meal that’s memorable and conversation-worthy. *Note: some dishes were a bit saltier than I prefer. Also curious to see how the menu develops to keep the place interesting and fun to come back to :-) A few points: • The butcher’s pie was a standout—rich, flavorful, with fresh crunchy greens. • The picanha wagyu was a bit too rare for my taste; I’d suggest requesting a more cooked temperature if you prefer. • The coconut sorbet with pineapple and chili (extra bite) was fantastic. • The persimmon tarte was delicious; the goat ice cream wasn’t my favorite, but my husband loved it.
