It was closed yesterday, I looked over the gate inside, I do not think it will be opened again because it was filled with dead leaves from the plants and trees.

I ate here some time ago - not yesterday as Google thinks. So far as l can recall the food was very tasty. We waited some time for it but it was worth the wait. I ate plenty of etmek bread whilst we waited which was home made flat bread with yummy hummus. l have given up asking for butter as the local butter is sour and if it's English butter like Lurpak it's normally off. I just use a little mayo to moisten it if l need to unless its smeared with olive oil. The salads come already tossed in oil and lemon but you can have this served separately if you prefer. I never find fault with freshly chopped salads if there's a Turkish chef in the kitchen. You will find your usual friendly service here that you always find in local family run restaurants. We had chicken which was very appetising. My friend had a wrap which was lovely as l had a bite. (Years ago in North Cyprus kebabs were made from locally reared lamb which was available everywhere and delicious. Now the lamb seems more gamey which may be older sheep not lamb or goat meat which l don't like but nobody else is displeased with it only myself but l have been spoilt in the past having been travelling to the North for over 40 years eating lovely organic lamb.) Now there are plentiful supplies of beef on the island and it's mostly GOOD beef. Beef mince Spaghetti Bolognese is always delicious here. OMG the thought of it. You can get Parmesan here too (sorry Gran Parna mainly.) If you order beef on the Island do ask for it rare and you won't be disappointed. (The trick with cooking is _not to cook_ ie don't overcook. Apart from _al dente_ vegetables. (People come come: this is lightly cooked vegetables not raw vegetables! This is pasta cooked _with bite_ not uncooked pasta! ) Further, there is cod in North Cyprus now: English fish and chips cod which is beautiful, tasty and served in big portions. Salmon too. (Smaller portions but tasty.) Care with the bones as all of them are rarely removed. The fish is frozen supplied imports. But ALL fish is frozen! When fish is caught its thrown on ice then subsequently some deep frozen and exported around Europe/the World. _Fresh_ fish is extremely rare but available here and just like the fish you caught (or your father) when you were a kid. (Harbour.) If you want locally sourced fresh fish - totally organic and natural - you can get it in North Cyprus. (Bass.) Bream is also obtainable. (I have eaten mullet here a delicacy in the South of France.) The fresh fish here is very oily and boney served whole and unfilleted and it is quite messy to eat. When we eat it in restaurants with my friend's family their mother skins and separates the flesh off for everyone so we are quite spoilt and don't need many wet towels afterwards. You will be very satisfied when you leave *Kyrenia Tavern* and won't need a midnight ham sandwich or piece of apple pie (well maybe a small piece _a la mode_ .) Get with the programme: living is for eating - l think that's the lesson the Universe wants to teach us when we're sent here? (Maybe pro-creation too but that's another matter entirely.)
