Michelin Guide rating

This sister spot to Mexico City's Terraza Cha Cha Chá delivers on its name with its upbeat atmosphere. The indoor-outdoor space with West-facing views of DTLA feels like a lush garden, albeit one with hip mid-century modern furnishings. The menu is refreshingly uncomplicated yet inventive with a round-up of botanas, platos principales and well-crafted desserts... FLAVOR (4/5): 1. GUACAMOLE: I'm not a huge fan of guacamole, but I really liked this! The creaminess of the avocado was balanced out by the citrus. 2. CEVICHE: The ceviche was good, but nothing super special. The kumquat flavor was very strong here. 3. TOSTADA TERRAZA: I liked this dish! Hard to share, but we managed to cut it in half. Balanced flavor, and the fish was fresh. 4. PESCADO CHA CHA CHA: I always jump at a chance to try a restaurant's branzino and this was good! However I've had so many that were outstanding, so this one fell flat compared to the one at Bavel and Zinqué. SERVICE (5/5): Service was great! AMBIENCE (5/5): The restaurant is on a rooftop with plenty of heaters to keep you warm. It's absolutely beautiful and the string lights really add to the ambience. Perfect for date night. PARKING (2.5/5): It's the art's district, so it's hard to find parking. But on Sunday evenings you can normally find something. TAKEAWAYS: I'll let you guys in on a date spot secret... Make a reservation for La Cha Cha Cha and another reservation for Death & Co right after. They're right next to each other so no rush and the vibes of both are great. Drinks here, drinks there, drinks everywhere.
