Went to LA ROZ with my partner and, to be honest, it was a bit of a letdown. First off, we were told only one side of the restaurant had AC because the other side was “under maintenance.” Didn’t really add up, felt more like a cost cutting move, especially in this heat. It wasn’t cool enough either, but we let that slide. We ordered the lemon butter chicken, their signature platter, minty lime mojito, and a zesty ginger lemonade. The prawns in the platter tasted a bit off, not fresh at all. Then things went downhill. We spotted ants in the minty lime mojito, yeah, actual ants floating in it. Told the staff, and instead of a proper apology, they said it came from the sugar. They swapped it out pretty quickly, almost too quickly, and guess what, ants again. At that point, we just gave up on the drinks. The worst bit though, near the end of the lemon butter chicken, we found a piece of stainless steel scrubber. Proper shocking stuff. When we told the staff, they asked why we didn’t mention it earlier, like seriously, as if we’d keep eating if we saw that earlier. Bit of a joke, honestly. They offered to replace the dish, but we were already put off. They didn’t charge us for the platter, but still charged for the mojito with ants in it, not great. Cleanliness was another issue. The washroom was pretty grubby, mirrors and entrance areas were dusty, just didn’t feel hygienic. Food was alright at best, but overall the experience was pretty poor. If you’re going because of influencer hype, don’t get your hopes up, it’s a bit of a different story in reality. To the owner: might be worth tightening up on hygiene, food handling, and staff training. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
