If you happen to be around Wan Chai, visit this restaurant. LAI's Kitchen is well known for providing Cantonese cuisine. It's a pleasant experience to order perfectly cooked broth and good eel. Delicious wine is the most popular drinks of this place.
The gracious staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place great. Many reviewers point out that the service is terrific. If you come to this spot, have no doubt, you are to enjoy the surrounding cozy atmosphere. This restaurant won the Bib Gourmand award for good meals at moderate prices.

Had such a pleasant dining experience here! I was initially a little concerned after seeing some older Google reviews mentioning poor service, but our experience was completely different. The staff were very patient, friendly and attentive throughout our meal. There was absolutely no hard-selling or pressure to order more, they patiently gave us time to look through the menu and decide what we wanted. The service genuinely made this one of our most pleasant dining experiences in Hong Kong. And the food was top notch! Everything we ordered was delicious, but my favourites were definitely the pork belly, Three Treasures Claypot Rice and Salted Egg Yolk Prawns. The claypot rice was especially satisfying, and the salted egg yolk prawns were so flavourful and addictive. Great food and genuinely good service. A very enjoyable meal and definitely somewhere I would happily come back to when visiting Hong Kong again! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $400–450

A friend insisted on taking us to this restaurant even though they had to stand in line before it opened. It turned out to be worth the effort. The food was really excellent - my favorite was the chicken. The service was very good as well - we had a very nice server. Can't wait to go back!

Newly opened in September, LAI's Kitchen is a Cantonese restaurant advertised to be an upgraded Dai Pai Dong. It is conveniently located near the Wanchai MTR Station. The main dining room on 1/F is bright and tidy. However, it is very noisy and seats are not comfortable, but still better than a typical Dai Pai Dong. Although most customers are walk-ins, reservation can be made via WhatsApp. Servers are very green, but most are helpful and accommodating. While food is not cheap, food quality is rather inconsistent. It is apparent that the MSG level is high, because everyone in our party develops symptoms of Chinese Restaurant Syndrome. Highlights of the dinner include the flavorable Golden Crispy Fish Skin (HK$108), the tasty Big Red Robe Tea Crispy Chicken (HK$300/half chicken; HK$500/whole chicken), and the succulent Fried Seasonal Pea Sprouts with Chicken Sauce (HK$128). Stay away from the pork dishes, including the hard and sticky Avize Champagne Spare Ribs (HK$168), the leathery Fresh Fruit Sweet & Sour Pork (HK$168), and the chewy Inauthentic Garlic Pork Belly (HK$128).
