One of the best food experiences. An original flavor! Service was excellent! The restaurant is elegant and quiet, and the food tastes very distinctive. Their idea is that it is Italian food with Swiss ingredients. The service was excellent and they were cooperative in terms of inquiries if the food contains alcohol or pork. I have been eating at L'Age d'Or for more than 30 years about once a year at each of my annual visit to Geneva (except last few years during covid). This last visit was probably the worst, service was amazingly rude (both of the servers on the patio) and the parma ham pizza, which I am eating as mentioned for 30 years, was ...off. I could not put a finger on what went wrong but it is not what it used to be. The ham is the same, I think the tomato sauce is the same, the dough was a bit different maybe and probably the cheese as well. They are very tiny deep dish pizza, you normally need 2 for a full meal. Far away from a real neapolitan pizza but unique in their own genre and I crave them each time I am in Geneva. I will be back hoping the off-taste was a one-off, as there is no other reason to go there. Last time I was there in 2019, service was cold as expected in Geneva, but this time it was bothersome. It is a pity because these pizzas are good, normally, unique for sure, and the setting is very nice. Service has always been famously cold but this time it was bad.
