L'Alambic in Reims is a fine dining spot that serves up traditional French cuisine at a very reasonable price. The small dining room, located in a wine cave, is tastefully decorated with a cozy ambiance that retains energy without being overly loud. The restaurant offers outdoor seating for those who prefer to dine al fresco. The establishment's hotel concierge is known for snagging hard-to-get reservations through his contacts at local restaurants.
The menu features dishes such as pumpkin soup with a hint of ginger and something creamy, herb-crusted lamb loin, beef filet topped with seared foie gras, and terrine slices of a wonderfully creamy paté wrapped in duck. The sauces served with both courses are bread-worthy. The dessert menu includes fromage, cafe gourmand, crème brûlée with chicory ice cream, and a Champagne Gourmand that is a small asiette of four delicious desserts served with a glass of finest fizz.
L'Alambic's wine list is extensive, with a focus on local champagnes and wines. The proprietor is lovely and always willing to help diners navigate the menu and recommend wines to pair with their meals. The restaurant also offers a nice selection of cocktails, soft drinks, and other non-alcoholic beverages.
Overall, L'Alambic is a great find through TripAdvisor recommendations that is definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in Reims.

Wife and I had a great dinner at L'Alambic. Food and service were both fantastic and they were able to modify a few dishes to gluten free for my wife. We had a table down in the cellar, which was only about 10-15 stairs. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
