This was my first time visiting L'Esculapi. It's set in a gorgeous little medieval village, so you have to concede immediately that some of the prices are simply for eating where you're eating. Whilst the views from the outdoor seating are pretty much that of the neighbouring 3 restaurants, it was still a lovely terrace. To start, my plate still had dinner remnants from the previous diners on it, which didn't impress me. We had a party of Germans and English eating, of which our server could speak neither language. No biggie, we're in Spain after all. The issue was that they seemed afraid to talk to us thereafter. No asking how the food was, and after a member of my group was pooped on by a pigeon in the tree above, we got no consolation. The food was nice. The pizza was the surprising star, with a strong cheesy base, wonderfully fresh tasting basil and a potent truffle oil drizzled over. Dont expect any cutting tool to come with it though. The prawns, which cost the same as the pizza, were lackluster in taste and quantity. The Goats cheese with bacon was a tasty treat, but the tomato jam that comes with it was fantastic! I don't event remember seeing it listed on the menu. My party also ordered the lasagne, which was rather small, and the salmon, which apparently lacked some flavour. Next time we'll be trying a neighbouring restaurant. We'll be trying. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
