The quality and quantity of the food has gone down since it was taken over by a new owner and they changed their menu. Everything is really more expensive. The service was really not up to par. We got argued by the waitress because we hadn't given enough tip even though we did despite the poor service. Edit: To answer the egger, I can't post the feedback. Here are more comprehensive comments: I wrote a review on Google Maps and an automatic message recommended that I write to you directly to share my experience. I went to L'oeufrier time and time again when I lived next door. Each time it was a great experience. The waitresses generously offered extra maple syrup, the coffee was free, the food was delicious and in impressive quantity, enough to take home. For several months/years, if I understand correctly, the Oeufrier restaurants have been bought, or in any case, have completely revised their menu in all the franchises. A more modern design also came with higher prices for less food. Charging $1 for coffee isn't the end of the world. But it's a sign of a change in direction for the restaurant. Maple syrup doesn't even seem to be included in most of what I've tried. Additionally, during my last restaurant experience, the service was extremely slow and non-responsive. We asked for a refill of coffee 3 times before getting any. Probably because the restaurant wanted to cut the number of employees to save money. After paying the bill, I was accosted by the waitress asking why I hadn't tipped 15%. A tip is optional by definition. Can we stop promoting this culture? Everywhere other than America, tipping still retains its original meaning. It is a way of rewarding exceptional or surprising service. In Japan, it is frowned upon to tip because they consider it an insult: it is like telling the waitress that you think she/he is not paid well. And yet, Japan is recognized for having the best restaurant service in the world. Why are prices in North America twice as expensive and not including taxes or tipping that we try to make obligatory for customers? Is it reasonable to argue with customers for tipping despite questionable service, simply because it is not the minimum value expected according to social standards that should be reviewed? Why complain to customers? It is up to you, the restaurant owner, to pay your employees properly. If the prices of the plates have to go up to do so, at least be transparent and state the real price rather than surprising customers by imposing a 30% tax (15% tip + 15% government taxes) Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes: Œuf Benedictine Au Saumon Fumé, Bene Vege
