Overall had a great experience and it's a good place to for a special occasion. We enjoyed their concept of sourcing locally and not using gas for cooking. They change most of their dishes in the course of 2-3 months. I enjoyed most of them with a few stand outs, especially in terms of preparation and a few misses (the fish dishes). The are 2 small complaints. Firstly, the serving sizes for the non alcoholic drink pairing were pretty small, barely giving you the chance to enjoy the drinks. Secondly, one of the staff kept asking if we're enjoying the meal but I didn't feel like this was the place where I could say "no" and then tell them what is wrong. Overall, I would come again after some time to check out a completely new menu Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Vegetarian options: It's a set menu so not a lot of options Dietary restrictions: They can accommodate them if you ask in the booking

This was our indulgence whilst visiting Kyoto and the warm welcome and perfectly executed service was a highlight of the entire holiday. Would love to come back, if only it wasn’t a 15hr flight! I’d highly recommend booking so that you are not disappointed. The drinks pairing added to our experience and was generous. I’m so glad we visited Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: At the time of our booking feb 2026 there were none.
