truthfully this place is all hype..I had high expectations but at last, this place is juss "trending"...I ordered my meal..it tasted like it was dipped in salt n one of my shrimps wasn't cooked all the way through. I can only say this place is 100% clean with an amazing staff..juss the food sucks. I paid for my meal, I juss won't be returning. Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

We were in a large party and were sat separately from the whole party. Different servers, no communication between them. Server was rude and took time for her to bring over whatever we needed during our meal. Ordered a beef birria taco La Barca style. The consumé was over spiced to what appeared to be cinnamon. Murky looking When asked for additional water, she took over 15m to bring over a glass of water. She did apologize for her tardiness. Once done, she came by and we asked for the check. The rest of our party, (another server, had already settled that table). We continued to wait another 15-20m when we had our table walk to the door my husband and I stayed back and when the server came around, she asked if all was ok, we told her we were waiting for the check we had asked for. She returned to her uncomfortable look and said we had never asked for the check. She gave it us and had to wave for her to take our form of payment as we were not told where we were to pay. Once settled, we found the manager at exit. Shared what our experience was and he told us that the next time we could ask any server for help when dining there. Huh??? He said, “I’m sorry this happened and next time” Felt very disregarded from the beginning and the separation of the group in two separate tables was not very family friendly. Nope- not a place for what I had thought it would be. There are better Mexican restaurants in the area that do care how the service and quality of food is offered the its patrons. We had been going to the La Barca Restaurant in El Monte for over twenty years and found out today that it had recently closed. It was our to-go place for Birria Estilo Jalisco, Molcajetes, and their Codorniz. I don't know if this particular La Barca is from the same people who owned the El Monte restaurant, but their food was just as good. I had the Birria de Res, and my wife had the Camarones Rancheros. They were both excellent. Large portions didn't leave room for dessert! We shared a Queso Fundido; it was delicious, and again, it was a significant portion. Freshly made tortillas made the meals even better! Their Cafe de Ollá was the best I've tasted at a restaurant, and with free refills, I had it coming all morning :) We enjoyed the beautiful interior of the restaurant. It's not your typical "Mexican" restaurant. It's elegant yet not pretentious, and it was a plus not having the usual loud Mexican music overpowering the atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. We are already planning to bring friends over to enjoy their delicious food. I apologize for the photos.
