I am extremely disappointed with my experience with La Basque. I placed an order and waited over an hour with no update or communication from the restaurant. After waiting that long, I had to call myself, only to be told that my order had been cancelled because I live around four miles away. What is completely unacceptable is that the order was accepted in the first place and left pending for over an hour instead of being cancelled immediately. If the restaurant was unable or unwilling to deliver to my address, that should have been communicated straight away rather than leaving a customer waiting with no food and no explanation. I am a Type 2 diabetic and had specifically ordered food because my sugar levels were dropping. Due to the delay and complete lack of communication, I was left in a very difficult situation. Basic customer care and responsibility were completely absent here. To make matters worse, the manager/staff member I spoke to on the phone was rude, dismissive, and arrogant instead of apologetic or helpful. There was no attempt to resolve the issue professionally or show any understanding of the inconvenience caused. Mistakes can happen, but poor communication, wasting customers’ time, and rude customer service are far harder to excuse. Very disappointing experience overall. Food: 5 Service: 1
