This is not a fancy restaurant, but it's clean and the staff is friendly. This is a storedront place you take the Little Leaguers to eat pizza after the game, or when you want something simple and you don't want to dress up, or you can't think of somewhere to go. Four of us had dinner there and three of us liked our food. We had the Italian sub with fries - good sub, well-cooked, hot fries: baked ziti, loved it; I had angel-hair pasta with meat sauce - very good; but our fourth had the saddest-looking eggplant parmesan any of us had ever seen, and it came out at least five minutes after the other three dishes were served. After dinner I asked her if the parm was as bad as it looked, and she said, "Pretty much.". My partner and I ate pizza there shortly after they opened and it was good. We will definitely go back, but we won't order the eggplant parmesan. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Recommendation for vegetarians: Somewhat recommend Vegetarian offerings: Not sure Vegetarian options: I don't think there's a vegetarian section in the menu. But they do have cheesy, meatless options, and of course veggie pizzas, calzones, and strombolis. Also shrimp, mussels and clams for the very brave pescaterian, but I don't think I'd eat any seafood there. Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian options. See website menu for other restrictions. I wasn't paying attention. Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free of charge parking lot Parking: Storefront restaurant with big parking lot. Some handicap spaces. Kid-friendliness: I didn't see many kids but it seems very kid-friendly. Wheelchair accessibility: The ramps are laid out in a weird way Facing the store, wheelchair users should use the ramp on the right. There are wheelchair-fridndly tables as well as booths.

We visited La Cucina Italiana Raleigh on Jun 14, 2026 to celebrate our son's graduation. Our first time for all of us party of six. Although I don't care for Italian cuisine, I am partial to seafood. When I saw clams and mussels on the menu, I knew I wanted to try them. When we entered, the sign at the reception desk told us to sit anywhere. After we were given the menus, it would be at least five minutes before the waitress returned to take our beverage orders (drinks are usually asked immediately after the menus are handed out). Thankfully, we didn't have to wait to order our food after the drinks were served. I ordered garlic knots and side garden salad for the group and wife respectively. For my entree, I asked the waitress about the two entrees of linguine with mussels. The only difference between the two is the sauce: lemon flavored or marinara. I decided on linguine with clams. The sound level in La Cucina Italiana is reasonably low enough to carry a conversation without raising one's voice. There were televisions playing a World Cup match (Brazil vs. Morocco, and Brazil was leading 1-0), but the sound was muted. The restroom has an LED mirror with touch buttons. It was the first time I had seen such a thing. The three buttons on the bottom row are (from left to right) for anti-fog, brightness (press and hold) and on/off. I thought the first two didn't work - didn't know about pressing and holding the second button till the next day - but the third one certainly did. The garlic knots were served with extra oil and two sides of (marinara?) sauce. While the party members complained about the excess of the oil, I liked it and used it as dipping sauce for the knots. I enjoyed them so much that I finished the remaining five after the others took three. No one touched the sides of sauce. The entree could be better. The linguine and the clams were well-marinated, but the lemon-flavored sauce was overpowering. The four lemon slices were not necessary. Furthermore, both the carrot and celery sticks were rock hard. The others said the same thing about theirs too. I immersed my carrot and celery sticks in the lemon sauce but it did very little to soften them. I decided not to eat them. I prefer my carrots to be cooked; the raw version never appeal to me. I did enjoy the clams, though one of them had noticeable grits that made a crushing sound when I chewed. The garlic breadstick was mild and did not compare to the more richly-flavored garlic knots. Despite the strong taste of the lemon sauce, I used it dip the breadstick. Towards the end of the meal, I started to perspire. It wasn't the food. Wife experienced the same thing as well and her order wasn't spicy. Apparently, the restaurant's air-conditioner was set too warm. I ended up taking a shower when I got home. In addition, the portable card reader used by the waitress seemed antiquated. I tried numerous times to sign my name on the display screen but it turned out like a toddler's scribbling. A stylus would help a great deal. Given how much the restaurant is charging for their food, it would be a very inexpensive investment. Overall, the dining experience was a mixed bag. Tasty garlic knots, less so the linguine with clams; feeling sweating towards the end, antiquated card reader. I have no plans to come back to La Cucina Italiana Raleigh. Should I decide to, I like to try the linguine with mussels and opt for marinara sauce. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30
