Food was u ok at best,But waiter recognize us as tourist and self gave himself a tip. Bill was 59 euros, gave him 70, and never came back. I claimed it as we walk out and he said, “it was a tip” I reclaimed 11 euros? He replied “10%” I’m all for tipping , and probably would have given about a little over 10, but taking it was rude, and abusive if out of culture. Many American tourist are not used to the European tipping culture and overt, that’s understandable but don’t assume ignorance that’s disrespectful. I felt cheated and really disappointed. I picked that as a restaurant for my dinner tonight. I would definitely not recommend this place if they have that kind of culture in their ranks.. Non so perché un posto come questo tratti i clienti turistici in questo modo, perché rischiare la reputazione. Sovracaricare dandoti la tua mancia di quasi il 20% come se fosse consuetudine?

An Unplanned Gem: A Highlight of the Trip My wife and I visited Ristorante La Fornace on a whim. We were staying nearby and noticed the closest restaurant appeared to be at full capacity; I am so glad we made the decision to walk in here. It turned out to be a fantastic experience and was certainly one of the highlights of our holiday. Atmosphere and Service The restaurant is quaint and has a wonderful, family-run vibe. The walls are covered in interesting photos of what I believe is the owner alongside many famous people. While I did not recognise most of the celebrities, it was still fascinating to look at them. The service was equally brilliant. I regret not asking for the gentleman's name; he was bald and incredibly warm. He was friendly and had a great sense of humour; his English was also very good, which made the evening even more enjoyable. Food and Drink The food was exceptional across the board. We started with the bruschetta; it is a classic dish but was executed perfectly with fresh, delicious tomatoes and the ideal amount of oil and seasoning. For the mains, my wife had the carbonara. It was delicious and served in a very generous portion. I opted for both the lasagne and a margherita pizza with buffalo mozzarella. The pizza was divine; the base was crispy, the sauce was light, and it had the perfect amount of cheese. I finished the meal with a traditional dessert of dark cherries and ricotta, which was a lovely way to end the sitting. Value for Money The value for money here is truly incredible. I found it hard to believe how much food we received for such a low price. Our total bill came to just €55. This included our drinks, bread, two starters, three mains (as I was feeling particularly greedy), and dessert. Final Verdict If I lived in this area, I would definitely visit regularly. It offers a perfect blend of high-quality food, welcoming service, and excellent pricing. I cannot recommend it enough for anyone looking for an authentic and affordable meal. Apprendere che una visita casuale si sia trasformata in uno dei momenti più significativi del soggiorno a Roma è fonte di profonda gratificazione. La descrizione dell'atmosfera familiare e l'interesse mostrato per la galleria fotografica che adorna le pareti confermano quanto il carattere storico del locale riesca a trasmettere un senso di autenticità e calore.
