Hola amigos! I was born and raised in Mexico, lived there for 33 years. Traveled across the country, tried home made dishes, recipes and restaurants all the way from the southern Yucatan peninsula to the northern border states. Finding the right ingredients is the key to achieving authenticity and flavor. And this is what sets La Gloria apart from other Mexican places in the area. (Watch out readers! Mexican food is not about perfected cooking techniques, nor about the perfectly cut and plated meal. It's all about flavor, fun and "feeling") don't let the "right colorful and festive ambience, margaritas, coronas with lime wedge on top and tequila shots" trick your senses. You'll find handful of these  -cheddar-cheesy-scallion-sweetish-salsa type places all over trying to conquer your taste trough the Tex-Mex illusion.  La Gloria market reminds me something known in Mexico as a "Fonda" they're humble family-owned places where food is often served in plastic plates or baskets with craft paper type napkins, plastics chairs and Coca-Cola or Pepsi - branded  tables where you see simple or sometimes absent decorations other than images of "San Judas Tadeo" on the threshold at the entrance, often seen tied to a chunk of aloe plant, that according the tradition will bring good luck and more customers.
