Came by the other day to grab some souvenirs. La Grande Epicerie is a huge grocery store along with a wine basement. The upper levels are a high end department store including a few sit down cafes to rest and dine. The main street level has a ton of local and high end souvenirs such as chocolates, biscuits, and cookies. They also have a ton of fresh fruits, vegetables, fresh meat along with cured meats. Checkout is quick with either self-checkout or staffed check out.

It's the supermarket that all supermarkets should measure themselves against! La Grande Epicerie de Paris, an institution in Paris's 6th arrendisemont, transports you into a food adventure the minute you walk through its doors on the Rue de Sevres. The minute you walk through the doors you begin a journey that includes some of the tastiest baked goods at the boulangerie to the left - which includes large macaroons, eclairs, cakes, and any delicious desert you can cream of - or the colorful and beautiful produce on the first floor that transports you back to the farm they came from. As you walk through the store, you are surrounded by fresh meat in the back of the store, a wonderful seafood section, an oyster bar, aisles upon aisles of food products from all over the world. Just a walk through this store makes you hungry! Le Grande Epicerie is beautiful, clean, and is easily the best supermarket in the world and must visit for anyone who lives in Paris or is visiting from out of town. To use a bit of French, Les Grande Epicerie est supermarche excellent. Un dois visit!
