My boyfriend and I reserved a table for a Saturday lunch, specifying our wish to be on the sea side. This wish was respected, which got our experience off to a good start. Entries: We opted for safe bets: shrimp and oysters. The products were fresh and of good quality, a pleasant starter which did not contain any big surprises, but which satisfied us. Dishes : For the dishes, we chose the clam pasta with white butter and the sea bass with grilled carrots. Clam pasta: The cooking of the pasta was perfect, the flavors balanced and delicious thanks to the white butter and lemon. However, the portion of clams was a little tight, which left us hungry. However, it remains a recommendable choice. The Wolf: This dish, unfortunately, disappointed us. The plate was served to us cold, and the fish had to return to the kitchen to be cut, which lengthened the wait. We would also have appreciated if the cutting was done in front of us, for the experience. The fish came with half a lemon and decent grilled carrots, but the complete lack of sauce made the whole thing bland and unmemorable. Wines: We encountered some difficulties with the wine list. There was no real recommendation from the team, and the choice was limited. We finally opted for a 100% Grenache white, which turned out to be a great discovery and pleasantly accompanied the meal. Location and atmosphere: The exterior setting of the restaurant is magnificent and immediately makes you want to sit down. However, once inside, the impression changes: the decor seems somewhat dated, perhaps too out of step with the modern and attractive image that the establishment projects online. Conclusion : The overall experience was mixed. If the setting and the breathtaking view of the port of Goudes are worth the detour, the cuisine and service did not live up to expectations, especially for an addition of €124. We recommend a visit to enjoy the unique charm of this emblematic place, but more for the atmosphere and the panorama than for the gastronomy. La Marine des Goudes is a very good restaurant which offers lots of very fresh, well-prepared and very tasty seafood. From the restaurant we have a beautiful view of the port. The decoration is neat and elegant. The staff is smiling and attentive. A very nice address if you go to Les Goudes.
