I went here with my family from Marseille at the recommendation of my cousin Andre Colas. We stopped at the small bar across the street for a pastis to whet the appetite. At 8 pm, we ventured across the street and had the meal of a lifetime. Every dish sang an ode to the region and the sea. My bourride, which is the house specialty, was made with amazingly fresh seafood caught by local fishermen. A lot of people confuse versions of bourride and mistakenly believe Bourride Setoise (the white monkfish version) is the only true one. L'Esplai du Grand Bar des Goudes' is what I was brought up with and, most importantly, extremely tasty.
When I return in three weeks, this will be our first stop for some amazing bouillabaisse.
Easy parking, great beach to swim at nearby, worth a detour!
