In a cozy, dimly lit restaurant in the heart of the Sete, there lived a humble mayonnaise sachet named Mayo. Mayo wasn't flashy or grand, but he had a purpose, a destiny: to bring a dash of flavor and joy to a plate of hot, crispy fries. That’s all he ever wanted. On this particular night, Mayo sat in the kitchen, full of hope and excitement, waiting for his moment to shine. As the evening began, the restaurant buzzed with the quiet clinking of glasses and soft conversations. An Aperol Spritz was served, followed by a non-alcoholic beer, and eventually a glass of wine—though the wine took a bit of coaxing, needing to be requested three times before it finally found its way to the table. Mayo watched all of this from his spot on the shelf, feeling the anticipation build for his big entrance. Then came the order: tuna steak, clam linguine, and, most importantly, a side of fries. Mayo knew this was his chance. The fries were his perfect match, the ones he was destined to accompany. But as the minutes ticked by, fifty-five in total, something strange happened. The plates left the kitchen, but Mayo stayed behind, waiting patiently for his turn. The tuna steak, when it finally arrived, was overcooked, dry, and a little sad, much like the air in the room as the evening dragged on. The clam linguine was lukewarm, lacking the bright, briny flavor it was supposed to have. And then there were the fries—golden, hot, and perfectly crispy, but missing the one thing that could have made them complete: Mayo. A request was made for the mayonnaise, and Mayo perked up, ready for his moment. But somehow, in the shuffle of orders and the clatter of dishes, the request went unanswered. Mayo remained on the shelf, unseen, untouched, still waiting. As the minutes stretched on, he began to feel a twinge of sadness, a growing realization that he might never fulfill his purpose that night. And so, the fries were eaten plain, without Mayo’s creamy touch. The meal, much like Mayo himself, felt incomplete, lacking the simple satisfaction that a small sachet of mayonnaise could have brought. To make matters worse, a visit to the restroom revealed a broken toilet seat, a final, unexpected disappointment in a night filled with them. As the evening came to an end, the diners left with a sense of what might have been. Mayo, still waiting in the kitchen, never got to bring his simple joy to the table. He remained there, on that shelf, a small sachet with a big heart, longing for a moment that never came. This restaurant, with its charming decor and cozy atmosphere, held so much promise. But it’s a place where even the simplest details can be overlooked, where a small sachet like Mayo can be forgotten. For those seeking a place where every detail matters, where even a little mayonnaise sachet can find his purpose, this may not be the right choice. And so, Mayo’s story remains one of unfulfilled potential, a quiet tale of what could have been. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €30–40 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

While the previous restaurant had refused us because there would be too long a wait, we presented ourselves at La Méditerranéenne whose waitress told us that they could serve us. After being seated, after 25 minutes, no one came to offer us an aperitif, water or at least the menu... even though we saw the waitresses coming and going trying to serve the other customers , walking past us without even giving us the map. It seems to me that even if we are overwhelmed, this is the minimum and the basics of the profession. Several other tables were waiting for their dishes. In short, given the service difficulties and the lack of professionalism of this restaurant, we left without eating or drinking after 30 minutes. We did well because a little further on the quay, we found another restaurant which brought us the menu after 5 minutes and asked us if we wanted to drink something: menu in 5 minutes, glasses of wine in 10 minutes, and the dishes were there in 20 minutes, normal! If we are not able to serve customers in a timely manner, which we can completely understand, it would be better to say so and refuse them. So I don't recommend this restaurant, there are a lot of choices on the quay! Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
