Looked nice from out side. Shit hole inside. Says grill and bar and all you can get is pizza on a Friday night. No running water in the ladies rest room.

A total waste of money. Sounds like a "classy" place but it's just a total dump where the owner will overcharge patrons of the theater who are not local. Their alcohol selection is pathetic at best and if you like $13.00 short drinks surrounded by people one step above homeless than this is the place for you. If you're going to be going to the theater you're far better off stopping in at the first bar we went too called Bally Mauk which was about ten minutes away.

I wish I could award zero stars instead of one. I can only assume that La Opera does not want visitors to the Genesee Theater as new customers. I was charged $12.00 for a shot of Jim Beam by the female bartender (owner?) and the kind patron sitting next to me confirmed I received "visitor pricing". Sorry La Opera, I would expect to pay that on Michigan Avenue, but not at your establishment. The message was received loud and clear and I do not recommend this place to any patrons of the lovely Genesee Theater.
