I ordered a takeaway for collection yesterday. When we arrived home the pizza was missing 5 toppings, leaving just cheese and tuna. It was my birthday meal and we had some other food items ready at home. We were really disappointed by this, but ate it none the less, as by the time this would have been rectified, the other food would have been cold.
I messaged La Rustica on Facebook that evening, as there was no answer when calling the restaurant . What I believe to be the manager, Lorenzo, very briefly apologised for this , and explained that my order , was mixed up with another. I then asked kindly what would be done to resolve this, as what I received was totally different to what I ordered, and paid for. He was snappy with his response and questioned me as to why I did not call the restaurant immediately, to which I replied about the rest of my birthday tea already being ready. Lorenzo said that he would only refund my order if the pizza was uneaten and still ‘intact’, which obviously it was not. I then asked if he would refund the difference between the pizza I ordered , and the pizza I received, to which he said he would give me £2 only, he continued to argue with me and I completely got the impression that an extremely unhappy customer did not phase him atall.
After responding and expressing my disgust and upset about the unacceptable manner he was talking to me in; His response is as follows:
‘I have tryed to reason with you and you are ranting at me it is serving no useful purpose to continue i fail to see how 6 or7olives afew slaces of peppers could ruin your evening by not being on your pizza the whole world is holding its breath in this awfulawful frighting times and you are ranting on about afew olives shame on you’
As I’m sure you can all agree, for a manager to speak to a customer in this way after I put across my dissatisfaction for the food that I received is absolutely shocking. He challenged and argued with me, completely disregarded my complaint and continued to speak in an unprofessional and inappropriate manner .
After viewing his responses to some of the negative feedback on Facebook and here , Lorenzo seems to be extremely argumentative and rude.
I am absolutely disgusted and shocked at the way I was spoken to, and I’m sure it is very clear to all of you reading this, that he does not speak to his customers with respect or kindness, ESPECIALLY in these hard times, when love and kindness is needed more than ever . I think the shame is on you , Lorenzo. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT AT ALL COSTS.
