Enjoy a drink at Laksalicious

After a long walk around Asia Camera Museum, go to this restaurant and have a rest here. Malaysian dishes are on the menu at Laksalicious. Spend a nice time here and share perfectly cooked shrimp rolls, fried prawns and laksa with your friends. Taste good mango dessert, parfait and creamy dessert at this place. A selection of delicious Mojitos is recommended to visitors. Drink the great vietnamese coffee, ice tea or white coffee served here.

At this spot, you can order dishes as a takeaway. Most reviewers find the staff energetic. Service at this restaurant is something one can name spectacular. You will certainly appreciate the cool ambiance and modern decor. Laksalicious received the Bib Gourmand award for good meals at moderate prices.

Michelin Guide rating

Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking.

With a caricature of the owner on its sign and a mural deconstructing its signature items, Laksalicious is a cheerful little gem bubbling with character. As its name suggests, laksa is the main event here – choose between Nyonya assam laksa with sour, spicy fish broth or Nyonya laksa lemak with rich, creamy coconut milk broth. Prawn crackers add texture and flavours... More info

Okay laksa but a little expensive in terms of the value, RM15 for a bowl is okay but has to have the value of the same. It fell short. But if you want a comfortable aircond place for a laksa, this is a good choice. Parking is a little challenging but doable. Overall the price / value across the all items isn’t quite there — for me so may not be you, but still worthy for an experience. Food was amazing! First time eating Laksa, I’ll definitely go back if I visit Penang again. Prawn cracker is crispy and tasty. First bite of the soup was a bit fishy but tasted really good, I don’t think I had much soup left at the end!! Not busy closer to closing time. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: RM 20–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Supported them since the MCO days. Bought many packs and even brought them back to KL. This was my first time dining in, and unfortunately, they seem to have developed an arrogant vibe. They’re clearly doing very well now with all the Michelin recognition, but it shows in their attitude. Why do I say that? 1. I signalled to place my order. The lady came over and said, “Wait ah, they came in first, so I’ll take their order first.” Honestly, that came across as quite rude. I felt insulted because I actually arrived at 10:30am and waited at the coffee shop next door until they opened. despite the fact that those customers entered before me. There are definitely better ways to communicate this, such as, “Give me a moment, I’ll get back to you after taking their order,” instead of saying, “They came earlier than you.” Factually, I was there earlier, just not inside. 2. Previously, the fish came as a whole piece along with crushed fish. I asked why there’s no longer a big piece of fish, and she said it’s all crushed inside. That’s not true - I clearly remember it used to have both. It also used to be spicier, but now the spice level is lacking. Not to mention, it was RM9.90 back in 2022, and now it’s RM14.90 without the fish. Price increases are understandable, but the quality shouldn’t drop. The cendol ice also seems to be prepared earlier and kept in the freezer. It’s clumped together and hard to break apart, instead of being light and loose. For the current quality and service, it’s just not worth it anymore. This is no longer the Laksalicious I remember - it’s now the “Michelin-arrogant” version. You’ve lost a customer who used to really love this place. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4

Hi Jane, thank you for supporting us since the MCO days, and we are truly sorry to hear about your bad experience during your recent visit. We would like to sincerely apologize if our waitress did not respond in a professional manner. However, she would not have known that you had arrived earlier and were waiting at the coffee shop next door before our shop opened, so she based it on who came into the shop first. Still, we understand how this could have come across, and we will improve the way we communicate with our customers. Regarding the fish, we are not sure if there may have been some confusion, but our fish has been blended into the broth from the very beginning. It is cooked over charcoal for 8 hours, and the fish is fully meshed into the soup. We have never served a whole piece of fish in the broth, and both our ingredients and recipe have remained the same all this while. You may also refer to customer photos posted over the years, which show the same presentation consistently. 11 years in business and we are always serious in maintaining our quality. As for the cendol, it is definitely made to order and not prepared in advance or kept in the freezer. That said, we appreciate you sharing your feedback with us. We would also like to say that we are definitely not arrogant, and it is never our intention to make any customer feel uncomfortable or unappreciated. We are always grateful for every customer who supports us, whether from the early days or now. Thank you again for your support. We take your comments seriously and will continue working to improve both our food and service.
