I stayed at Lala's Place in the off season so had the dorm to myself most of the time. It is a lovely place and was excellent value. Lala is really nice. I particularly liked the tropical feel of the common area (except for the mosquitos) and the cute kitten (June 2025). Shared bathrooms are kept clean. Mosquito nets provided & Towel provided. I had a power outlet & lamp by my bed and a little wooden locker for valuables. It is close to the beach so sand gets everywhere and the mosquitos were fierce because it was monsoon season. Not much going on locally during off season but you can tell the area comes alive in the high season. I extended my stay several time and ended up staying over a week. I would certainly stay again. Take bus 388 into town. Spend a day wandering around Galle Fort
