I am always rather sceptical when I see a restaurant achieve consistently high ratings as I have been disappointed by such restaurants far too many times in the past. However, Lantian, an Asian fusion restaurant, exceeded my expectations in this respect. Having lived and worked in Asia, I can genuinely say that it manages to capture the authentic flavours of that region in its short menu – do not expect the usual long list of rice and noodle dishes that are the staple of most Chinese restaurants. In fact, there is little more that I can say about the service, the food, its presentation and the ambiance that has not already been said. I am already looking forward to returning to Lantian.
