This quaint shop offers Lao cuisine. I was interested in trying different food so I was excited to try. I was surprised (but shouldn’t be) that the dishes are very similar to Thai though still with a distinct difference. My plate as well as my mom’s were very delicious. Chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I didn’t like that the sticky rice was wrapped in plastic inside the cute basket. Maybe use banana leaves instead. The staff was very nice and friendly. The table though was very, very sticky. The problems I have are fixable. I would come again. Went here for a late lunch with my wife and our two teen daughters. We had a really good experience. I grew up in the Twin Cities, so I grew up eating at many of the Hmong restaurants there, many of which are highly regarded. Lao Der was as good as any of them. Standouts were the Lao wings and the Nam Khao. Especially the Lao wings. Amazingly crisp, light and delicious. These wings are right up there with the lollipop wings at Great Seas in Albany Park or the Sap Sap wings at Spicy Thai Lao in Burbank. Get two orders , even if you're by yourself. You won't regret it. Service was pleasant, attentive and warm. They even gave me a free Pink Milk drink for Father's Day. Very nice. These people are working hard and turning out good food that honors their culture and is interesting amd delicious. Support it! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Order type: Dine in
