I love finding unique places outside of the usual tourist stops and this is a true hidden gem. Every dish we ordered, from the homemade ginger soda to the fresh bread and soup, was absolutely delicious. I usually share my meals because I rarely finish a full portion, but this food was so good that I couldn't bear to give any away! The interior is quiet and peaceful, and the outdoor seating area looks equally inviting. Beautiful place and it's clear so much passion has gone into each layer: the design, the food and the effect of the food on the people eating it. I had the breakfast set which felt cleansing and nourishing. The only thing I didn't love was that all the food had the same texture. I longed for one moment of crunch or chewiness. But perhaps this is an aspect of medicinal cooking. Aside from that, it felt wonderful to sit in such a peaceful, well-designed place to enjoy an excellent breakfast and I intend to go back for the curry soon as it looked delicious! What a special experience! I loved the tea and treats, but even more the service and decor. I highly recommend anyone who is visiting Kyoto come visit Last Drop, you won’t be disappointed!!
