Fabulous array of cakes. We didn’t have breakfast there but everything that came out looked delicious. Our cakes were fresh and top quality. The coffee had a good crema on top (maybe could have been a little stronger). We were seeking a table out doors but they were all taken. One of the servers was quick to see our dilemma and offered to put a table and chairs out. Great service. Cute courtyard facing the sun Meal type: Brunch Price per person: A$20–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Have frequented this establishment three times. I can therefore in all honesty say I gave it a go. Very overpriced run of the mill mass produced pastries and sandwiches. Staff are not of a happy disposition considering they are in customer service. Very little atmosphere and certainly does not have any French flair, quite sterile in fact. Head baker, needs to understand that when a customer is not happy with his product and returns it twice to be rectified, they are not in the wrong. I will not be returning. L’atelier in Armidale is a true French gem. Walking in feels like stepping straight back into France. The craftsmanship of the pâtissiers shines through in everything — from delicate pastries to rich coffees and indulgent milkshakes. The banoffee pies are a highlight, along with the airy meringues, decadent hazelnut cakes, and an array of perfectly made patisseries. From duck confit toasted sandwiches to hearty chicken pies, every bite reflects authentic flavour and care. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Armidale, this is a must-visit spot — easily one of the town’s very best. Price per person: A$20–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
