Always a pleasant experience at Lawlers whether dining in getting take out or just a quick trip through the drive thru. Staff is always friendly and pleasant. 1st Why is it so tough hard to chew. 2nd Have to Ask for BBQ Sauce EVERYTIME only place that dont ask you what flavor sauce you want. But they will ask u if you want a drink! but no mention about BBQ Sauce. this must be a high priced to give away. so u leave carry out with no BBQ Sauce. Dietary restrictions: would like options for diabetic dessert's. many times we skip restaurants just because we know they dont offer no sugar added desert's. this is also a good marketing item. Service: Take out Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30

This review is for just their Brunswick stew. Their Brunswick stew really is just vegetable soup. It's pretty tasty, but all the versions of Brunswick stew I've had or made actually contain meat as well as veggies. Lawlers doesn't seem to use meat. Last Thursday my husband was craving Brunswick stew and decided we needed to try Lawlers version. I've enjoyed various versions at many bbq restaurants and most are good, not as meaty as I make at home but still it has always had discernible meat pieces. When hubs got home he had ordered a gallon of the stuff so we'd have some in the freezer for cool weather and long work days. We now wish the three quarts we have left weren't taking up space. The soup turned out to be just veggies. I think the whole gallon may have had a scant tablespoon of meat threads but that was all. I was shocked. Almost forty dollars for a gallon of vegetable soup? Now I'm sure the next time I make pulled pork or poach chicken I can fortify the soup and it will be good and filling. But I'm certainly not going to waste money buying vegetable soup that's labeled Brunswick stew! I love Lawlers barbecue, their stuffed potato's are delicious and most all of the menu items are good but I'll stick with my version of Brunswick stew and give theirs a pass! Expensive vegetable soup is not a substitute for Brunswick stew!!

I'm so sorry your stew didn't have enough pork in it. We do fortify our Brunswick stew with roughly 1/2 lb. of pork for each gallon. It's possible the soup wasn't stirred properly before serving. Thanks for your feedback. We appreciate it.
