This was excellent. Super tender and tasty meat and rather interesting rice, even the sauces are a little out of the ordinary. Lamb Mandi was a standout dish. Portions generous, and while the general layout and style of the restaurant is simple and unfussy, the service was really good, our waitress made us very welcome, knew exactly what was available, and also worked out what would keep a somewhat picky seven year old happy. It's a busy busy place - word has clearly spread that this is a bit special - and the nature of the flagship dishes means they take ages to prepare, so when they're gone for the day, they're gone, at peak times what is available will also vary! With not a huge amount of space available you'll want to get there in good time if it's holiday season. The Karak Tea was v good. Saudi coffee available ('the yellow one') - not something I'd tried before, rather intriguing. Fresh baklava for dessert. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

If you’re looking for the real deal, Layali Riyadh is legit. The Lamb Mandi is fire, and the traditional Kabsa is a total game changer. They even whip up some insane smoothies! You can’t leave without giving the Saudi coffee a shot it’s a must. Pro tip ditch the fork and eat with your hands up stairs in glasa to live the full experience. 10/10!
