I've lived in the Bucktown / Logan Square area for 10 years and only within the last year made it to Le Bouchon.  I now realize I've missed out on the most fabulous dining experience for the greater part of a decade, so I've been making up for lost time by now coming frequently.  My husband and I have quickly decided this is our favorite restaurant in Chicago.  Bold statement, I know, but trust me.  There isn't one thing on the menu that isn't fabulous.  Having ventured through most of it since discovering Le Bouchon, my favorites are the butter poached lobster starter, lyonnaise salad, and the ocean trout wrapped in puff pastry (which for the record I didn't even think I liked; turns out I do).  Cocktails are phenomenal and a steal for the area at $12.  Service is always attentive.  My preference is to sit at the bar but its hard to snag one of those 5 coveted seats.   Space is tight but it really transports you right back to Paris in every way possible.  I dined here last week and am already dreaming of my next trip.
Delicious hanger steak and potatoes, chicken, and boullabase. Great ambience and service as well
Le Bouchon still wonderful!! Had two house salads, the escargot, the rib eye steak for two -- MP of $90, cauliflower, and their bread pudding. The maison salads were perfectly prepared with creme fraiche dressing and a crunch component (?) sprinkled a top. The escargot was of the traditional delicious sort--so good. The steak, cooked perfectly, was accompanied by three sauces and triple fried steak cut frites. The shallot sauce was our favorite followed by the classic red wine reduction (bordelaise sauce). The bread pudding was light and the sauce Incredible. Had a great bottle of French Pinot Noir and enjoyed our evening immensely. There was a little miscommunication between our very nice server and our order. We had some questions about the menu but didn't believe we actually ordered...we were still in discussions. We thought there would be a come back to finalize our order.  Seems our decision about an appetizer and ask about an entree was taken as 'the order.' This just meant we had to wave our server down later to order salads. The steak takes a little more than 30 minutes to come so it worked out perfectly.
