I ate here twice during a convention I attended in the hotel. This is a small    open restaurant on the first floor of the Hilton Riverside. They seat you and there is a mix of tables/chairs and table/booth/chairs. The hostess both days was pleasant and fine. I did the buffet both days. The good of the place is it's not loud and I actually like the smaller size. It was very clean and the people were pleasant.  The buffet itself had some good New Orleans local variety on it which I definitely liked and found a good variety. Grits, Shrimp dish, cranberry bread pudding, andouille sausage, alligator sausage, etc. The rub was the wait staff service. With me doing the buffet all I really needed was coffee and refills. After the first cup I did have to ask multiple times both mornings for more. Also, both days they brought the check before I had finished eating so I felt hurried. I had the same exact order (buffet and coffee) both days but were charged different amounts on the bill for both days. Again, everyone was nice but I did feel a bit forgotten. Lastly, though I loved the variety of the food I thought quality was a bit of let down.

Read the disclaimer at the end of this review. Want to know if you should eat breakfast here? Answer this question: Do you have a voucher for free breakfast? If yes, then eat here. If no, don't. The end, one star. Hold up bro. You can't just throw out one star and roll out. I ate breakfast here because it was convenient. I did not have a voucher. I was asked if I had a voucher somewhere around six times. That should have been my first clue. Breakfast is a full buffet and it is not cheap. It is somewhere around $30. For that $30 you are supposed to get a cornucopia of delights. OK, I made that last part up, but $30 is a lot for breakfast. It is really a lot for breakfast when the staff all seemed mad and angry. It is a lot when the waffle iron is broken. It is a lot when the person working the made to order omelette station is not there and when she returns she is looking at you with disgust and the omelette pretty much was flavorless. It is a lot when you can't get drink orders, silverware, or any assistance from the roving waitstaff. There was almost nothing good about this experience. Nothing good until you read my disclaimer. I received an email from the Hilton asking for my input on my experience. I received it a day or so after eating here and I went hard in the paint. Like scorched earth level of rantness. The food service manager contacted me and refunded my money. I was shocked. Kudos to that dude because he was awesome. He seemed genuinely interested in improving the place. I hope he has. So if you have a voucher, get you some breakfast.
