Do not get me wrong -- the coffee was pretty good. The service was appalling. The lady who took our order is doing an excellent job of warding people away from this place and preventing people from tipping. She left me so speechless that I don't even know what else to add to this review but stay very far away if you see her at the register On the other hand, the gentleman who actually made our drink was so kind!

I thought I'd reviewed the District food court here at Brookfield Place before, but apparently there are now sub-entries for parts of it, like "Café District" which is the dazzling pastry case and espresso station that you encounter as you walk in from the Winter Garden at ground level. Not only is it all attractive, but the selection is quite extensive and the prices relatively accessible in an otherwise pricey venue. Still spendy, though. Ready-made pastries, breads, baked goods, baguette sandwiches, and other carbolicious goodies are perfect for either tourists or office workers who want something quick to grab and go, while the coffee kiosk will cover your needs for caffeination or hydration to do along with the food. It's all a step above generic chain fare you can find anywhere else in New York. Bonus: the Winter Garden, riverfront, and Brookfield Place setting means that there's plenty of room to head off, spread out, relax, and enjoy your goodies.

Visit Le District for lunch and coffee. We grabbed a quick sandwich which was ore made but thrown on a panini press. It was AMAZING. the coffee was also very impressive. I ordered the Nutella latte. Talk about dreamy
