Astonished at the changes on Rue du Bac, a street we frequented in our youth, we needed a break from our lamentations. Le Gévaudan was the perfect respite. We sat down at a comfortable table and ordered a glass of vin blanc, a Moscow Mule, a salade, and terrine. The charming Ludovic, from the beautiful country of Guadeloupe, took good care of us. Le Gévaudan helped us "lick our wounds" as we realized, nothing stays the same. Progress sucks, but it's out of our control. The old Rue du Bac will remain in our hearts.
