If you have never tried Canadian cuisine, you should order a table and try the menu at this restaurant. Do not go away without eating good eggs benedict, sausages and bacon. The unique characteristic of Le Matinal is serving tasty crepes. It's nice to taste great coffee.
This place is famous for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. From the visitors' point of view, prices are attractive. You will certainly like the pleasant ambiance and modern decor. But the rating for this spot isn't high on Trip.

Best breakfast in Gatineau and/or Ottawa as far as we are concerned. We are breakfast aficionados. They have beautiful home fries crispy and tasy and real, not just french fries cut up and deep fried, eggs always done to perfection, crepes perfect. The service is fast, friendly and in both languages. The place is comfy and clean. Very sorry to see them close. So called new is not always better.

Aylmer's original and at one time, only breakfast joint. It's also home to a mammoth sized framed jigsaw puzzle of the last supper. The place is a tad gloomy and it doesn't help that there are not one but two sections roped off with 'this section closed' signs on pedestals and the lights within turned off. Not sure if it was just while I was there at noon or if that's a permanent thing. Regardless, the food isn't bad. The accompanying side of fruit didn't have the habitual 90 percent melon content with a few berries on top. It was quality fruit all the way. I was impressed to see real maple syrup on the tables too. They also have more lunch choices than their fellow breakie competitors including specials that are very reasonable that came with soup and a dessert. The dessert was really good too. Service was great and the food came out promptly. So, overall not a bad place. Maybe if they made the place a little cheerier, more people would come and eat with Jesus.

place was completely packed except for a few tables, feeling a bit nervous that the food would take a long time to be cooked, proved completely wrong. i am from south ontario and was visiting gatineau for the weekend, decided to try le matinal. Was seated within a few seconds of walking in the door,The bilingual server was excellent, wishing my girlfriend a happy birthday and remembering exactly what we had the day before. The food was superb, ordered the eggs benedict. and it showed up within 5 minutes. felt very necessary to tip $20. in saying all that, i am very surprised to see that it only has a 3.9 star rating. Breakfast was so good i had to go back the next morning!
