Le Petit Jardin Cafe 2nd UPDATE: From my first review to this last Sunday, over a year ago, my opinion has not changed. We continue to enjoy our Le Petit Jardin experience. UPDATE: We have gone from visiting several time to going once or twice a week. A place with fabulous food and magnificent service. The French Toast is extraordinary. Have been there several times for breakfast and will make a special effort to visit for lunch shortly. It is hard to try different dishes because we fell in love with the first dishes that we tried. I had the "Le Crepe Delacroix" on several occasions now. While the "Le French Scramble'' is one of my wife's favorites. We find the intimate character and bistro atmosphere, reminiscent of an European café experience. The staff's love of sharing their passion for great food and service with their customers is exhibited in the quality of both. Would highly recommend the experience. Located in the Galleria on Venice Avenue [1500 E Venice Ave Unit 401, Venice, FL 34292] since 2010. Moving there from the Kentucky Military Institute Building in Venice, were they served residents and visitors alike from 1979 to 2010. The venue offers indoor/outdoor seating and takeout. Tho their delicate and delicious crepes would, I believe, suffer from not being enjoyed while on the premises. Serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and an Afternoon Tea on Friday & Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00. In season I would suggest making reservations. If you served in the military, ask about their military discount. The menu clearly states that they include a 20% gratuity. As long as I can remember, a that's a common practice in Europe. In fact, in 2008, the French Government made an 'included service charge' law compelling restaurants and cafes to add it to your bill. The included gratuity doesn't bother use because we never leave anything less anyway [provided that service is average or better]. To be clear, the service here ALWAYS exceeds that standard, so no issue with a minimum 20% tip. We've been so happy with the food and service that we add something to that. Thank you for your feedback and especially your understanding of the service fee. The staff is actually making more money this way and many people don’t look at the big picture and judge us just based on personal felling of the change and not seeing how the new laws of Florida affect the service industry. We have and always will take care of our staff and make sure they are taken care of!!
