Wonderful pre-theater dinner. Pate was VERY good (maybe could have been a little less cold). The bread is worth a review of its own - crispy crust and tender/airy inside - divine. Beef Bourguignon was wonderful. The best part was the dessert - and I'm not even a dessert person! Apple Tart - wow! Great crust, the apples were themselves tart, and set off perfectly with a dollop of sweetened whipped cream. Killer!
I can't remember where I learned about this place, but it was in my notes on my phone so I looked it up.  I saw the YouTube video with all the horrible comments about the chef not wearing gloves and cross contaminating bread... and I was still gonna go for the French Onion Soup Burger.  I showed up, and was pleased by the ambiance of the place, just dark enough, but not too dark... some perfect live music in the background... definitely a great date place.  I ordered the escargot as my first course and they did not disappoint.  Perfectly cooked with an a amazing butter garlic (I think) sauce... then the main course... The burger was perfectly cooked, the cheese melted to perfection and just the right amount of spice.  I was not disappointed... wow!!! But the most amazing thing was eating the other half the next day... Best leftovers I've ever had!!! If you're in NYC and looking for a great spot to have a meal.. I would definitely recommend this!!! Enjoy
Le Rivage is my favorite restaurant in the world. I live in Los Angeles and have traveled and eaten all over the world and still enjoy a dinner at Le Rivage over any other restaurant. The Duck is my personal favorite. Crispy with tons of flavor and delicious sauce. Salads are cold and crisp and have marvelous homemade dressings. Freshly made French style fruit tarts are fabulous with a bit of whipped cream. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. I tell everyone headed to N.Y. not to miss Le Rivage for a lovely dinner out. A European Country decor is very pretty and not loud at all. Do not miss Le Rivage!
