I feel like I've been driving by Lé Vu forever, so it's surprising it's taken me this long to check the place out. We showed up around 7:00 on a recent weeknight and the place was almost entirely empty. We snagged a booth and began perusing the menu. I didn't need to look at the menu to figure out what I wanted, though, since I always order the same thing whenever I'm trying out a new Vietnamese joint: Grilled beef & spring roll on vermicelli. It's kind of like a test: if they're unable to impress me with this staple, I'm done with the place forever. Lé Vu definitely impressed me. It arrived around 15 minutes after I ordered and it's a top-notch version of this venerable dish. I took a bite of the grilled beef and was immediately impressed. It was super tender and extremely flavorful, and it was ultimately a perfect complement to the rest of the dish. All the other components worked really well, and the concoction is taken over the top with the judicious addition of the available sauces on the table. (I guess my only complaint would be that the cucumber was cut just a little too big. I want to be able to eat everything in one bite.) We also tried the Shrimp Fresh Rolls and they were definitely above average, as was the provided peanut sauce.

The soup base is fantastic and they were generous with the lemongrass so the flavour is really good. Their beef brisket is more like beef shank but I really like it. We are regulars at Pho Com 99 down the street but want to try this just for a chance or scenario. I would say most dishes are very comparable to Pho Com 99 and the service is very good. Stay away from their drinks. The bubble teas are all made with powder and the Vietnamese coffee taste like regular coffee. No kick at all. That's the reason for me taking one star off.

Le Vu is sadly now suffering from an over blown ego. As someone who has reviewed them positively in the past, I am saddened to review them as a place that is now lacking in quality and suffering in service big time. A couple of days ago I ordered them on Uber Eats and my last few experiences were lacklustre to say the least. One time they forgot the seafood upgrade on my pho. Another time I ordered extra raw beef and ended up with a ridiculously minimal amount. So I decided to order from them again because I do like their broth and I do like their menu and I still hold high hopes based on previous orders.. Prior to my delivery coming I called them to ensure that they don't make any mistakes with my order this time. I ordered 2 slush bubble teas with my order, for my daughter and I. They came completely liquid watery, and there was a giant gash in the side of one of the cups. It leaked everywhere and as I took it out of the little bag I then realized it was a leak in the cup and it leaked all over my books. In complete disgust, I called the restaurant only for the woman to answer the phone and be extremely rude... she abruptly tells me that they are closed and to call UberEATS and file a complaint through my order. Not only did they get the order wrong as it was watery instead of slush.... there was also a giant gash and this is unacceptable especially with her rude attitude. Sadly this little place is starting to develop an attitude problem.... they are getting very comfortable with their regular customers, and they've just lost one. Unacceptable!
